Don Belt

Professor of Journalism at the University of Richmond and former Senior Editor, National Geographic magazine. Belt covered Middle East conflicts for more than two decades. His keynote address, titled “To Walk the World”, was a call to global awareness and a greater appreciation of the world we share. It was illustrated with photographs from his past assignements. Following his keynote address, Belt led a curriculum development workshop that was an in-depth tutorial on using Paul Salopek’s Out of Eden project as teaching tool in both K-12 and post-secondary educational contexts.
